Terms of Use
Last updated October 16, 2026 · Applies to Vespera for iOS, version 2.0 and later
The short version: Vespera is free training for bar professionals. It teaches; it does not certify, and it never replaces your venue’s policy or the law where you work.
The licence
Vespera is licensed to you, not sold, under Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the “Standard EULA”). That agreement is the licence you use the app under. These terms describe what Vespera is and how it is meant to be used; they do not replace the Standard EULA, and where anything here differs from it, the Standard EULA applies.
Price
This version of Vespera is free, with everything included. It contains no in-app purchases, no subscriptions and no advertising, and nothing in it asks you to pay. If a future version offers anything for sale, it will be sold through the App Store under Apple’s terms, and these terms will describe it before that version is released.
Training, not certification
Vespera is educational material for people who work in, or are training for, bar service. It is not a certification, a licence to serve alcohol, or legal advice, and it does not replace any training or certification your jurisdiction or employer requires.
- Venue policy and local law come first. Where Vespera’s guidance differs from your venue’s procedures, your licensing conditions, or the law where you work, follow those.
- It never assesses a real person. Vespera does not determine anyone’s intoxication or blood-alcohol level, and never judges whether someone is safe to drive. Decisions about real guests are yours and your venue’s.
- Scores describe the training, not you. Debriefs and scores reflect choices made in the app’s scenarios. They are a record of practice, not a credential.
Using the content
- Recipes and techniques are for professional practice. Prepare and serve alcohol only where you are legally allowed to, and in line with your venue’s policy.
- Allergen and ingredient information is general. Products and recipes vary by venue and supplier: check the actual ingredients and your venue’s allergen procedures, and never promise a guest anything you have not verified.
- Review status is labelled. Each lesson, recipe and scenario shows its editorial status. Content marked “Awaiting professional review” was written by the Vespera team and has not yet completed external professional review.
- Venue names, brands and products mentioned in the app belong to their respective owners. Their mention does not imply endorsement.
On-device AI
Where a version of Vespera offers features that use Apple’s on-device language model, their replies are generated, not written by the Vespera team. They can be wrong, and they are practice, not advice. You can report a reply from the conversation itself. Whether your version includes these features is shown in Profile → Privacy & AI.
Your data
Everything Vespera stores stays on your device, and you can delete it at any time. The Privacy Policy describes exactly what the app does and does not do with information.
Changes and availability
Vespera’s content and features may change between versions — lessons, recipes and scenarios can be added, corrected or withdrawn. If a version changes anything these terms describe, this page will be updated before that version is released, and the date above revised.
Limitations
Vespera is provided as training material. Warranties and liability are as set out in the Standard EULA, to the extent the law where you live allows. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under the law that cannot be limited by agreement.
